Welcome to Campus Ministry at DSHA

Dear Friends of DSHA,

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share with you a bit about my experiences thus far at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School.  First and foremost, it is a pleasure to return to my alma mater in such an exciting and enriching role.  It seems like only yesterday that I was the one strolling the halls in the infamous plaid skirt!

More importantly, I feel blessed to be supporting the mission of DSHA, helping to mold believers who are able to think critically, communicate and inspire others and a take a leadership role in the fight to bring about social change, advocating for the dignity of all people.

As a student, DSHA’s campus ministry department had an enormous impact on me and my personal faith development.  I have a vast amount of respect for the faculty and staff of this institution who put their heart and soul into everything they do.  How humbling it is to work as a peer among individuals that have had such a profound impact on my life.  I look forward to our continued collaboration in developing confident and capable young women of faith.

As I reflect upon my role here, I am focused on my goal:  inspiring young women to be active, globally aware citizens who use their faith and talents in advocating for the poor and vulnerable populations of the world in an attempt to bring about justice and reflect Catholic Social Teaching in action.

As a Church, as we journey from celebrating the birth of our Lord to a period of ordinary time, let us join together, reflecting upon what we are called to do each day: to reveal God’s presence with all we encounter.  As a school community, our focus for the season of Advent was centered on The Gift of Presence.

As we learn to be present with one another, ourselves, our family, friends and strangers, we are able to truly see the gifts that God’s grace so often provides.

I ask you to think about how you are present with those in your lives on a daily basis…think how much this world could gain if we all made a commitment to be truly present with each other as our Lord is truly present in each of us.
