Dash-A-Thon is the only student-led fundraiser that directly supports the cost of their DSHA education. Their goal is to raise $75,000 from net proceeds. Raising Quota – $115 – from friends, neighbors and extended family to sponsor their seven mile walk/run is the expectation for each student. In true philanthropic spirit, each student makes her own gift to help meet her Quota.
Annually held in the first quarter, Dash-A-Thon Day begins with the assembly of students dressed in theme in the gym. Senior leaders prepare the student body for their seven mile walk and for those so inclined to run. It is an exciting day for the whole school and students earn a much needed afternoon of rest. Incentives include prizes for top individual fundraisers, top homeroom fundraisers, a school-wide movie day and an extra day off on the Monday following Thanksgiving.
Freshmen take note: you must raise Quota every year to earn your way to be on the Spirit Patrol in your senior year.
